Transportation Plans:

The Olympic Transportation System will connect the millions of visitors via train, taxi, bus, ferry, and sea-bus.  As a capstone of this effort, a rapid transit line linking the Vancouver airport (YVR) to the city will be operational by December. Other nearby international airports, albeit small-scale, include Victoria and Abbotsford in Canada, and Bellingham in Washington, USA.  Check out www.translink.bc.ca for more details.

Although the transit plans are comforting, the thought of accommodations for any Olympic Games is shuddering!  Your best bet is to try to land hotels from the major travel booking internet sites (e.g., Orbitz, Expedia) or other British Columbia web sites as www.bcacc.com or www.tourismwhistler.com .
